Prime Minister Plenkovic said that the Government of the Republic of Croatia hosted a thematic session on the occasion of the presentation of the second OECD Economic Survey for Croatia.

Noting that Croatia is currently in a leading position in terms of the number of completed areas in the accession process to the OECD—an international organization that promotes economic development and world trade—Plenkovic said:

“In recent years, Croatia has undergone a demanding transformation by building strong institutions and a solid reform framework for a stable and sustainable economy, as confirmed by positive macroeconomic indicators. OECD membership, as part of the community of the world’s most advanced economies, is a powerful driver for further reforms, the strengthening of institutions, and new investments.”

Plenkovic added: “Joining the OECD will constitute the final stage of our international positioning and, reflecting a modern understanding of sovereignty, will enhance our international standing with the aim of improving our citizens’ quality of life and strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of the economy.”
