Portuguese Foreign Minister Rangel held a telephone conversation with his counterpart Manuel Amante da Rosa following the accident that occurred on Cabo Verde’s Fogo Island.

According to a statement shared on the Portuguese Foreign Ministry’s social media account, Rangel conveyed Portugal’s condolences and messages of solidarity to the families of those who lost their lives and to the people of Cabo Verde.

Rangel also stated that the Portuguese state is ready, if necessary, to provide all required assistance either through the Portuguese Embassy in Cabo Verde or directly.
