Qatar calls for making the Middle East a weapon-free zone
Doha, October 18 (Hibya) – Qatar stated that establishing a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East is more urgent than ever and reaffirmed its position on this matter.
According to a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, establishing a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East, given the current regional and global security challenges, is more urgent than ever, and Qatar reiterated its stance on this issue.
The ministry’s statement also added:
“This statement was made by Khalid Ibrahim Al Mansouri, a member of Qatar’s delegation to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, during the First Committee meetings at the UN Headquarters (New York), in the context of discussions related to nuclear weapons.”
