Qatar condemns incidents in occupied Jerusalem and Kabul
Doha, January 21 (Hibya) – Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel’s demolition operations at facilities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in occupied Jerusalem, as well as the explosion in Kabul, describing them as contrary to international law and unacceptable.
The State of Qatar strongly condemned the demolition operations launched by Israeli occupation authorities at the UNRWA complex in occupied Jerusalem. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and a challenge to international will, emphasizing that the systematic targeting of UNRWA aims to deprive millions of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon of essential services.
Qatar’s Prime Minister’s Advisor and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari stated that Israel’s political or media-driven positions will not affect Qatar’s support for the Palestinian people, stressing that Qatar’s role in the Gaza Strip is not temporary and has involved mediation and support from the outset.
Qatar also condemned the explosion in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of Afghan and Chinese nationals. The Ministry underscored that violence, terrorism, and criminal acts have no justification, extended condolences to the families of the victims, the Afghan interim government, and the People’s Republic of China, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to continue steadfastly its role in safeguarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and in supporting international peace and security.
