Russia’s Oreshnik missile system enters service in Belarus
Moscow, December 31 (Hibya) – Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that the hypersonic medium-range ballistic missile system Oreshnik has begun combat duty on Belarusian territory.
According to CCTV, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that the Oreshnik missile system has officially entered combat alert status in Belarus.
The ministry stated that personnel specializing in launch operations, communications, security and power supply, as well as missile mechanics, have completed all required training prior to deployment.
The decision to deploy the missile system on Belarusian territory was taken during a meeting held in December 2024 between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
