Sybiha: Grateful for Latvia's decision to allocate additional funds
Kyiv, August 17 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said he is grateful to Latvia for its decision to allocate additional funds to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
Foreign Minister Sybiha announced that he had met with Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braze to coordinate steps ahead of important meetings.
Sybiha expressed gratitude for Latvia's decision to allocate additional funds to strengthen Ukraine's air defense, saying: "This is timely and extremely commendable support."
He stated that they discussed diplomatic efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine, and added:
"We reiterated our position that security must come first and that ending the massacres is a prerequisite for broader peace efforts. We discussed ways to effectively use NATO’s 5% defense spending to strengthen Ukraine's capabilities. Ukraine is now making an important contribution to transatlantic security. Strengthening Ukraine's defense means preserving stability across the alliance."
