Zelensky Met with European Commission President von der Leyen in Brussels
Brussels, August 17 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting in Brussels with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
The meeting discussed support for Ukraine ahead of the upcoming Washington visit and planned contacts with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Zelensky emphasized that maintaining Europe’s unity, as in 2022, is of vital importance, stressing that this unity contributes to achieving a just peace.
The parties agreed on the necessity of taking diplomatic steps once a ceasefire is in place, providing effective security guarantees for Ukraine, and maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia.
