Tajani: All of Italy mourns the passing of Sandro Mazzola
Rome, September 19 (Hibya) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani issued a message of condolence following the death of Sandro Mazzola, one of the legendary figures of Italian football.
Tajani noted that Mazzola was one of Inter’s iconic figures, saying: “All of Italy mourns the passing of Sandro Mazzola. He was a symbol of Inter, the son of Valentino Mazzola, captain of Grande Torino, and one of the most romantic figures in Italian football.”
Noting that Mazzola wrote unforgettable chapters while wearing the Italy national team jersey, Tajani said he was also remembered for the substitutions involving Rivera. Tajani said: “He was a figure that all young footballers today should look up to. I offer my condolences to his family and loved ones.”
