Trump announces trade deal with Indonesia including 19% tariff
Washington, July 16 (Hibya) – U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. has reached a trade agreement with Indonesia following a meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
Hours after announcing the deal on Truth Social, Trump told reporters that Indonesia would not impose any tariffs on American exports, while the U.S. would apply a 19% tariff on Indonesian exports.
In a later post on Truth Social, he stated that the agreement was “finalized.” However, the Indonesian government has not yet confirmed the details and said that a joint announcement was being prepared on Tuesday.
Trump also said that Indonesia committed to purchasing “$15 billion worth of U.S. energy, $4.5 billion worth of American agricultural products, and 50 Boeing jets, most of them 777s.”
