WHO: Health services are a lifeline in times of crisis
Geneva, December 15 (Hibya) – The World Health Organization (WHO) highlighted the vital importance of basic health services in areas affected by conflict and displacement.
The WHO emphasized that health services are “a lifeline” in times of crisis, noting that many families around the world are facing conflict, displacement and collapsing health systems.
In its statement, the WHO said that under such conditions families rely on the World Health Organization, which “delivers vital health services when no one else can reach them.”
Drawing attention to the donation season, the statement noted that support to the WHO Foundation helps provide life-saving health services in the first hours of emergencies and sustain assistance during periods when global attention wanes.
The WHO added that donations help “protect health, human dignity and hope,” with the aim of reaching more families with the health services they deserve.
