Zelensky: Russia’s attacks target civilians, stronger sanctions are necessary
Kyiv, November 8 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that during Russia’s overnight attack on the city of Dnipro, a residential building was hit, injuring at least 11 people and killing one.
Zelensky stated that dozens of people were rescued in Dnipro, but one person was killed in the Kharkiv region, and there were injuries in the Kyiv and Poltava regions. He also said that the Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions were affected by the attacks.
The President emphasized that all relevant teams continue their work in the affected areas, mobilized to repair damaged infrastructure, treat the wounded, and support civilians.
Zelensky said that Russia had attacked Ukraine with more than 450 drones and 45 types of missiles, adding: “Russia’s target has not changed: civilians, homes, the energy sector, and our infrastructure.”
He stressed that Russia’s continuation of the war is a matter of “resources and money” and called for new sanctions:
“Russia must be deprived of the means to finance its war. We appreciate the steps taken by our partners, but Russia’s attacks show that pressure must be increased.”
