Aliyev: The Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process has ushered in a new era
Baku, April 26 (Hibya) – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made evaluations regarding the peace process in a statement on the occasion of the Gernika Peace and Reconciliation Award.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev referred to the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia in a statement made within the scope of the Gernika Peace and Reconciliation Award.
Aliyev said, “At the summit held in Washington in August 2025, the text of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia was initialed and a Joint Declaration was signed.”
Regarding the process, Aliyev stated, “The conflict that lasted nearly thirty years has ended, and the foundations of a period of peace and cooperation between our peoples have been laid.”
Aliyev also said, “The example of Azerbaijan and Armenia shows that peace is possible when there is political will and international support.”
