Baghaei: Inflicting pain and suffering on civilians is the dictionary definition of terrorism
Tehran, February 14 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei reacted to Nancy Pelosi’s call on the U.S. administration regarding Iran. Baghaei said, “Deliberately inflicting pain and suffering on civilians as a tool of political pressure is the dictionary definition of terrorism.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei stated that Nancy Pelosi had called on the U.S. administration to “paralyze” Iran’s economy, even suggesting that ordinary Iranians in rural areas should “suffer.”
Emphasizing that deliberately inflicting pain and suffering on civilians as a tool of political pressure is the dictionary definition of terrorism, Baghaei said, “An approach that deems it legitimate to propose policies built upon the suffering of civilians in another country can only be the product of a malicious and arrogant mindset.”
Baghaei added, “From a legal perspective, such statements constitute further evidence that the United States pursues a policy aimed at deliberately and systematically inflicting suffering on societies it disapproves of. Such an attitude falls within the scope of a ‘crime against humanity.’”
