Carney met with NATO Secretary General Rutte
Paris, January 6 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in the French capital, Paris.
Prime Minister Carney stated that, ahead of the Voluntary Coalition leaders’ meeting, he and NATO Secretary General Rutte discussed the alliance's efforts to establish peace in Ukraine and the need for strong security guarantees.
Carney also mentioned that, in order to enhance its capabilities and those of its allies, Canada will increase its defense spending fourfold over the next decade. “This step is part of our mission to strengthen the Canadian Armed Forces and make the necessary investments,” he said.
