Czech Foreign Minister Lipavsky: Our dependence on Russian oil is over
Prague, September 18 (Hibya) – Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky announced that his country’s dependence on Russian oil has ended.
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky stated that thanks to the TAL pipeline running through Italy’s Trieste, imports of oil from Russia have ended, stressing that the Czech Republic’s energy security has always been the government’s top priority.
Lipavsky said: “Thanks to the TAL pipeline running through Trieste, Italy, we managed to end imports of Russian oil. Similarly, we have made progress on Russian gas and fuel for our nuclear power plants. The Czech Republic’s energy security has always been and remains a priority for our government. Aggressive Russia has lost its blackmailing power over our country; this is of vital importance both for our security and for our future prosperity. At the Czech-Italian business forum, I thanked our Italian friends for their excellent cooperation, especially in the field of energy.”
