Persian Language and Literature Day Celebrated in Iran
Tehran, September 18 (Hibya) – On 27 Shahrivar (September 17), Iran celebrated "Persian Language and Literature Day" in memory of the famous poet Mohammad Hossein Shahriar.
The spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, emphasized on this occasion that Shahriar, through his rich and impressive poetry, kept Persian alive as a common language for all Iranians.
Baqaei stated: "Persian is not only the shared literary, cultural, and civilizational heritage of Iran and all Persian-speaking peoples, but also the cornerstone that sustains our identity and national unity as Iranians."
Persian Language and Literature Day is regarded in Iran as an important occasion for preserving literary identity and strengthening cultural ties.
