Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi speaks with Canadian counterpart
Istanbul, June 22 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to discuss recent developments following Israel’s military attack on Iran.
Araghchi outlined the extent of Israel's criminal aggression, which targeted public infrastructure and residential areas, resulting in the deaths of Iranian civilians including senior military figures, academics, and innocent women and children. He emphasized the responsibility of all governments and the UN Security Council to stop this aggression and hold the Israeli regime accountable for its blatant violation of international law.
Condemning Israel's dangerous attack on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, Araghchi noted that the act occurred amid ongoing negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear file and constituted a violation of all international norms and the UN Charter.
The Canadian Foreign Minister expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in the region and reiterated that diplomacy remains the only viable path forward. She confirmed Canada’s readiness to contribute to efforts aimed at resolving the crisis through diplomatic means.
