UN Secretary-General Guterres Calls for Diplomacy
New York, June 22 (Hibya) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the U.S. bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities marks a dangerous turning point in a region that can no longer withstand another cycle of destruction.
Guterres stressed that the U.S. strike on Iran's nuclear sites represents a perilous milestone in an already fragile region.
He emphasized the need for decisive action to end the conflict and return to serious, sustainable negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, stating: “Diplomacy must be prioritized to prevent further retaliation. Civilians must be protected. Safe navigation at sea must be ensured.”
