Jetten: Egypt is a strategic partner for the Netherlands in the Middle East
Amsterdam, April 21 (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten made a statement regarding his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and cooperation between the two countries.

Emphasizing the importance of ties with Egypt, Jetten said: “Egypt is an important and strategic partner for the Netherlands in the Middle East, both bilaterally and through the EU. I discussed developments in the Middle East with El-Sisi, as well as cooperation between our countries and how we can further deepen it.”
Referring to Egypt’s mediation efforts, Jetten stated: “I expressed my appreciation for Egypt’s mediating role in the region, both regarding the situation in Gaza and the peace talks between Iran and the United States. I especially thanked the President for Egypt’s significant contribution to medical evacuations from Gaza.”
On humanitarian support, Jetten said: “I am pleased that the Netherlands has been able to contribute two million euros through the WHO.”
