Schoof: The Netherlands urges Iran to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible
Amsterdam, June 22 (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said that the government is calling on Iran to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible.
Prime Minister Schoof stated that during the National Security Council meeting, the U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities were discussed.
He emphasized that there have long been serious concerns about Iran’s nuclear enrichment program: “In addition, we are concerned about Iran’s broader behavior, including threats to Israel, support for terrorist organizations, and arms supplies to Russia.”
Highlighting that Iran must not become a nuclear-armed state, Schoof added:
“We note that Israel and the United States do not accept the nuclear threat posed by Iran. The Netherlands urges Iran to return to negotiations as soon as possible, because dialogue is the only path to a sustainable solution. In the end, de-escalation is crucial for regional stability.”
