Sybiha: Ukraine is ready for a long-term ceasefire to make diplomacy effective
Kyiv, May 30 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a long-term ceasefire to halt aggression and make diplomacy effective.
Foreign Minister Sybiha hosted Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Kyiv.
Thanking Türkiye for its support for Ukraine and sincere efforts to promote peace, Sybiha said, "I appreciate Minister Fidan updating me on the results of his meetings in Moscow. We discussed next steps toward ending the war."
Stressing Ukraine’s readiness for a long-term ceasefire, Sybiha said, "Russia must also accept a full and unconditional ceasefire. As long as Moscow continues to reject a truce and meaningful peace efforts, international pressure must continue to grow."
He highlighted the role of the Ukraine-Türkiye strategic partnership in strengthening peace and security throughout the Black Sea region, adding: "I thank Türkiye for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, for the return of Crimea, and its efforts to secure the rights of the Crimean Tatar people."
