The Netherlands considers joint production of air defense munitions with the United States
Amsterdam, November 3 (Hibya) – Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced that they aim to expand cooperation with the United States to increase production capacity in the defense industry.
Brekelmans said, “We need to increase defense production together with the United States in the Netherlands and across Europe. For this reason, we are exploring how joint production of American AMRAAM (Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile) systems in the Netherlands could be possible.”
He emphasized that these munitions are of great importance both for supporting Ukraine and for strengthening the Netherlands’ own air defense capabilities.
