President Trump made a statement regarding his meeting with Russian President Putin.

Trump said that Putin had called to wish him a happy birthday but primarily wanted to talk about Iran, adding that they had a long conversation on the matter.

Trump stated that they spent much less time discussing Russia and Ukraine, saying: “We postponed that topic to next week. The planned prisoner exchanges are being carried out. A large number of prisoners are being exchanged immediately from both sides.”

Trump noted that the conversation with Putin lasted about an hour: “He and I both believe that the Israel-Iran war must end. I also told him that his war must end as well.”
