WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus discusses health cooperation with Kenya
Geneva, December 19 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reviewed cooperation with Kenya’s Ministry of Health on universal health coverage, health system digitalization, and emergency preparedness.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus held a meeting with Kenya’s Minister of Health, Aden Duale. The discussions focused on expanding Kenya’s universal health coverage, digitalizing the health system, and the impact of emergency preparedness and epidemic surveillance efforts carried out with the WHO.
Ghebreyesus also noted that the WHO is working closely with Kenya to strengthen regulatory authorities for medical products, promote local production of medicines and health supplies, and develop traditional medicine.
It was emphasized that these efforts increase Kenyans’ access to essential health services and contribute to the goal of “Health for All.”
