Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski held a meeting in Kyiv with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar.

Zelenski said the meeting addressed important issues, particularly ending Russia’s war against Ukraine, achieving peace and the security situation in the Black Sea.

Zelenski said they appreciate India’s commitment to ending the war, adding that India’s position on peace is clear.

Zelenski said that while Jaishankar was in Kyiv, Russia once again launched jet-powered “Shahed” unmanned aerial vehicles.

Arguing that these UAVs could not have been developed without Iran’s assistance, Zelenski said Ukrainian fighter jets neutralized most of the drones used in the attack and that this kept the Indian delegation safe.

Zelenski expressed hope that other major world powers would also take a clear position that the war must end and a reliable peace must be secured.

Zelenski said the situation in the Black Sea was also discussed at the meeting, with particular focus on current threats to civilian maritime transport.

Zelenski said it is unacceptable to obstruct food supplies to regions where people depend on sea routes. He argued that Russia’s actions aimed at blocking Ukrainian ports, the food corridor and supply lines are causing serious disruptions in global relations.

Zelenski said all parties must work together to ensure security in the Black Sea.
