Cassis: Those who want to strengthen Switzerland should not isolate it
Bern, May 18 (Hibya)- Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis emphasized in his speech at the SwissMedTech General Assembly held in Lugano the importance of stable relations with Europe and open markets for the country’s prosperity and security.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis stated that at a time when global power politics dominate, Switzerland needs cooperation rather than isolation.
Referring to the country’s foreign policy vision and global position, Cassis said, “At the SwissMedTech General Assembly in Lugano, I emphasized the following: those who want to strengthen Switzerland should not isolate it. In a world ruled by power politics, our country needs reliable rules, open markets, and stable relations with Europe.”
Pointing to the negotiations with the European Union and the importance of market access, Cassis stated, “Therefore, Bilateral Agreements III are not merely about economic policy: they are a commitment to prosperity, security, and freedom of action, especially for an innovative sector such as MedTech, which depends on market access, talent, and planning certainty.”
