Lula da Silva: Sirius has brought Brazil to the global forefront of technology
Brazil, May 18 (Hibya)- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced that he visited the Sirius particle accelerator facility, the country's most advanced scientific structure, and that its capacity has been expanded through new investments.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva referred to the importance of the facility located in the city of Campinas for Brazilian science.
Lula also emphasized that investments made within the framework of the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) would strengthen the country’s place in the global technology league.
Sharing details about his visit and the new inaugurations, Lula da Silva said, “Today I visited Brazil’s particle accelerator facility Sirius. Located in Campinas, this facility is the most complex scientific structure ever built in our country.”
Providing an update on the project, Lula stated, “With the new PAC investment, today we inaugurated four new beamlines of this ‘super microscope,’ bringing Brazil to the global forefront of technology.”
Explaining the function of the facility and its research areas, Brazilian President Lula da Silva said, “Sirius produces a special type of light called synchrotron light by using particle accelerators.”
