Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes Australia’s decision
Ramallah, August 18 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that it welcomes Australia’s decision to ban Israeli Knesset member Simcha Rothman from entering the country for 3 years.
In a statement, the Ministry said: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes Australia’s decision to ban the entry for three years of extremist Israeli Knesset member Simcha Rothman, for supporting the occupation, spreading a culture of hate and division, and inciting against the State of Palestine."
The statement added that the Ministry considers this decision consistent with international law, human rights principles, international legitimacy resolutions, and signed agreements, and a step in the right direction towards achieving peace and resolving the conflict through peaceful political means.
