Ukraine’s Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, said that during his visit to Ukraine he met with U.S. President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also took part in the meeting.

Following the meeting, Umerov underscored the importance of contacts, stating: “What matters is having more contacts and coordinating the next steps.”

Emphasizing that the work is continuing intensively and comprehensively, Umerov said: “We continue consultations almost every day and work on the provisions in the documents.”

Umerov also stressed that they are in constant contact with national security advisers of European countries and that an agreement has been reached on holding new meetings in the near future.

In his statement, Umerov also thanked the U.S. side, saying: “We thank you for your constructive cooperation. Thank you to the American team for their intensive work, Mr. President Donald Trump.”
