Borrell: It seems the veil over Europe's eyes is slowly starting to fall
Brussels, June 21 (Hibya) – EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell stated that EU bodies believe there might be indications that Israel is not complying with international humanitarian law.
Josep Borrell said that after deep reflection, and with the death toll in Gaza reaching unprecedented levels, EU institutions are beginning to think that there are signs Israel may not be adhering to international humanitarian law.
He recalled that seven months ago the Foreign Affairs Council even refused to discuss such a matter, and added: “Now it seems the veil over Europe’s eyes is slowly starting to fall; on Monday, we will see what the ministers have to say.”
