Guterres: Climate change intensifies extreme weather events
New York, June 21 (Hibya) – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres highlighted the recent extreme weather events occurring across different parts of the world.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres noted the storms and floods that have affected countries from China to South Africa, and from India to Brazil, and expressed his solidarity with all those affected.
Guterres emphasized that climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent and destructive worldwide, stating that this is now a global reality that can no longer be ignored.
The Secretary-General urged governments, institutions, and individuals to take decisive action, saying, “Urgent climate action is needed now.”
