Netanyahu meets with U.S. SEC Chair Atkins
Jerusalem, January 18 (Hibya) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Paul Atkins to discuss a mutual recognition mechanism that would facilitate Israeli companies trading in the United States.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today with U.S. SEC Chair Paul Atkins at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem. The meeting discussed the possibility of developing a mutual recognition mechanism similar to the U.S. Multijurisdictional Disclosure System (MJDS) model.
Netanyahu said, “If this mechanism is implemented, registration and trading processes in the United States for Israeli companies listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange will become easier. It also aims to reduce regulatory duplication, simplify reporting procedures, and increase companies’ access to international capital markets.”
It was noted that the meeting between Netanyahu and Atkins is an important step toward strengthening financial cooperation between Israel and the United States.
