Umerov: We discussed Ukraine’s security guarantees and economic plans with the United States
Washington, January 18 (Hibya) - Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov said that during two days of talks in the United States, they discussed his country’s security and economic development plans and informed the U.S. side about Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov made statements regarding his two-day engagements in the United States. “For two days, we worked in the United States together with Kyrylo Budanov and David Arakhamia,” Umerov said.
Umerov noted that the U.S. side included Special Envoy for Peace Missions Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, and White House official Josh Gruenbaum. “We held comprehensive discussions on economic development and prosperity plans as well as security guarantees, with particular focus on implementation and oversight mechanisms,” he stated.
Umerov also emphasized that they informed the U.S. side about Russia’s recent attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, adding: “We will continue the next phase of our work at the team level in Davos.”
