Tajani inaugurates Misurata Free Zone’s new container terminal
Misurata, January 18 (Hibya) – Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, together with the prime ministers of Libya and Qatar, inaugurated the new container terminal at the Misurata Free Zone; the project also involves Italian companies.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani inaugurated the new container terminal at the Misurata Free Zone in Libya’s city of Misurata together with Libyan Prime Minister Hamid Dabaiba and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
Tajani stressed that the terminal is a strategic project and that Italian companies are also participating in it.
Stating that they aim for the Misurata Free Zone to become one of the Mediterranean’s leading logistics and industrial hubs, Tajani said: “The zone will be a key crossroads between Europe, Africa and the Middle East, offering Italian companies new opportunities in logistics, ports and technology.”
The minister added that the project will strengthen Italy’s economic influence in the region and has strategic importance for preventing irregular migration.
