Russell: Young people in Burkina Faso are taking charge of their future
New York, June 21 (Hibya) - UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell met with youth in Burkina Faso working to create positive change for children and young people.
Russell stated that these young people make a difference in their communities every day through advocacy and constructive actions.
Quoting HDV’s “Slam” performance, she said: “Youth do not give up in the face of a thousand problems – they take on the responsibility of finding solutions.”
UNICEF officials emphasized the need to support the potential of youth to transform their communities, saying that the examples in Burkina Faso are globally inspiring.
